Here is a step by step how-to for the book page flowers I talked about here. Materials You will need… 1) wire I used wire from the jewelry making section of a craft store. I’m not sure what gauge it was but maybe 12 or 16. It needs to be sturdy. 2) book pages I used a Harry Potter book that was weeded due to condition. The pages were falling out and the spine was destroyed. 3) hot glue gun 4) wire cutter I used pliers with a built in wire cutter. Book Page Flowers

Book Flowers finished

At the end of last summer, I was lucky enough to be in a good friend and fellow librarian’s wedding. It was a beautiful wedding and partially book themed! What better theme for a librarian!? For the wedding shower, I created a few recycled book flowers. As you know, I love crafts so this was the perfect job for me. My friend ended up incorporating book flowers into her bridesmaids’ bouquets as well. Such a perfect librarian wedding! Stay tuned for a tutorial on making these book page roses.

MSLA Presentation

Waaaaay back in March, I was lucky enough to present at the MA School Library Association “Fill Up Your Toolbox” conference. I realized I never shared my library centers presentation here. Where have I been???

I have been MIA for most of the school year, at least in my online life. There’s a pretty good reason for that, I promise! Mr. Lodge and I are expecting our own little Thing 1 and Thing 2 in the next few weeks! During the school year, all my energy went to teaching (the rest went to napping). Now that I’m home and pretty much playing the waiting game, I’m hoping to catch up on sharing a few things I did at school. I continued to take pictures and draft some posts but I never got around to fully writing them out! Hope you’re all enjoying your summer vacation!
